2010 AFL International Women's Day Award - Deadline for submissions - February 12, 2010. This award recognizes the woman of the year in the labour movement for her outstanding commitment and leadership in the trade union movement and community. Submit all nominations to the AFL offices, attn: AFL Women's Committee, or to afl@afl.org.

2010 AFL May Day Solidarity Award - Deadline for submissions - February 26, 2010. The annual May Day Solidarity Award was created in 1989 and is given to an Alberta trade unionist for his/her contributions in advancing workers' rights within and outside the labour movement. Submit all nominations to the AFL offices, attn: AFL Executive Council, or to afl@afl.org.

April 25, 2009 - Entrenching Exploitation.  The AFL has released the second report of its Temporary Foreign Worker Advocate. This report updates the working and living conditions of foreign workers, evaluates government responses to the program, and looks at the effects of the economic downtown.

April 22, 2009 - Green Jobs: It's Time to Build Alberta's Future. The AFL, in partnership with Greenpeace Canada and the Sierra Club, has released a groundbreaking report on green jobs. The report highlights that Alberta has the capacity of creating tens of thousands of green jobs in the short term and move toward a more sustainable economy in the long term.
