Labour Market Monitor - Recession Edition. Where can you get talk about "dead cat bounces" and "sheep on drugs," plus the latest economic data, all in one place? The Labour Economic Monitor, of course. The latest edition is now available, looking at the provincial budget and the ongoing downturn.

Solidarity in Hard Times - Union Magazine Spring/Summer 2009. The latest issue of Union Magazine examines how workers can continue to build solidarity in a changing world. How do globalization and new aggressive employer tactics affect workers' ability to organize? And how can workers build new forms of solidarity through environmental issues or worker cooperatives?

Changes to OHS Code, July 1, 2009. On July 1st, new changes to Alberta's Occupational Health and Safety Code come into effect. There are some significant changes, including revamped chemical hazard exposure limits, new working alone rules and a more stringent fall protection section. AFL Kids' Camp 2009 - August 3 to 7, 2009 - deadline for registrations was June 22, 2009. This year's camp will be at Camp Goldeye Nordegg and packages containing all forms and camp information will be mailed the week of July 6, 2009. Please contact the AFL office for further information.

April 25, 2009 - Entrenching Exploitation.  The AFL has released the second report of its Temporary Foreign Worker Advocate. This report updates the working and living conditions of foreign workers, evaluates government responses to the program, and looks at the effects of the economic downtown.

April 22, 2009 - Green Jobs: It's Time to Build Alberta's Future. The AFL, in partnership with Greenpeace Canada and the Sierra Club, has released a groundbreaking report on green jobs. The report highlights that Alberta has the capacity of creating tens of thousands of green jobs in the short term and move toward a more sustainable economy in the long term.

Union Magazine - Spring 2009. This issue examines the ongoing attach on Medicare. Articles in this issue shed light on what the Conservative government is planning, offer suggestions on how to make our system better, look to some European examples for inspiration, and examine Medicare's history.
